Terms of service

What we agree to provide, what we ask of you, and how either of us brings the relationship to an end.

Last updated: August 2026

Who we are

Zephyr Telecomms is a licensed electronic communications service provider operating under an ICASA licence in South Africa. Where these terms refer to "we", "us" or "Zephyr", they mean that entity.

What we provide

Voice origination and termination, telephone numbering, SMS and messaging, hosted PBX and contact centre software, and platform licensing — as set out in the order or agreement between us.

Specific commitments on availability are in our service level agreement.

Your account

  • You're responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity on your account.
  • Tell us promptly if you believe credentials have been compromised — we can suspend and reissue quickly.
  • The information you give us for regulatory purposes must be accurate and kept current. Some numbering requires this by law.
  • You must not resell our services unless the agreement between us permits it.

Charges and payment

  • Charges are as set out in your rate deck or order, and rates are effective-dated — a change never retrospectively reprices past usage.
  • Billing currency follows the matched rate row.
  • Invoices are payable on the terms stated on them. Late payment may lead to suspension after notice.
  • Prepaid accounts stop when the balance is exhausted; we'll alert you before that happens where we can.

Acceptable use

Your use must comply with our acceptable use policy. Serious breach — fraud, illegal traffic, or activity that endangers the network — may result in immediate suspension.

Phone Numbers

  • Numbers assigned to you remain subject to the numbering plan of the relevant regulator.
  • You can port numbers out. We won't obstruct it — we process port-out requests the way we'd want ours processed.
  • Numbers may be reclaimed if an account is closed or has been dormant for an extended period, after notice.

Liability

We limit our liability to the extent the law allows. We're not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits or business interruption. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Telecommunications depends on networks we do not control. We commit to what's in the SLA and are honest about the rest.

Ending the agreement

  • Either party may end the agreement on the notice period stated in the order. Standard business accounts have no minimum term.
  • We may suspend or terminate for serious breach, non-payment after notice, or unlawful use.
  • On termination you can export your data and port your numbers. We'll help rather than hinder.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified in advance to the contact on your account, and you may end the agreement if you do not accept them.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction.
